Since co-founding Studio Great in 2018, Calvin has led the creative direction of brands, campaigns and films.

Calvin is trusted to shape how businesses present themselves at important moments: a founder bringing a new idea to market, a family company reaching a new generation, or an established organisation growing into a national or international business. His work includes launch identities, company repositioning and long-term brand and film partnerships.

He takes responsibility for the creative direction from strategy workshops and positioning through to identity, websites, photography and film. Over a decade of experience in brand design informs his hands-on approach to creative direction, while his work as a writer and director brings a strong grounding in storytelling and production.

His process is built on exploring, testing and refining ideas. He develops early concepts, gathers feedback from clients and collaborators, and uses what he learns to guide the next version, keeping the work focused on its audience and purpose.

Alongside his commercial practice, Calvin writes, directs and produces independent films, including his debut feature, Outer Heavens. He develops the concept, writes the work and directs it through production, collaborating with Conor English on cinematography and editing. He also works independently across creative direction, brand design and strategy.
